Our Mission Statement

The Pro Football Dental Association was established in 2017 to gather NFL team dentists whose goal is to deliver top-notch dental care to the athletes of NFL. Additionally, the association will provide guidance and assistance to the athletic trainers responsible for the well-being of these athletes.

A Message from William Busch, DMD

My name is Dr. William (Bill) Busch, and I am a dental practitioner with over 34 years of experience in dentistry. I own NKC Dental with two locations, one in North Kansas City, Missouri, and one in Westwood, Kansas. My passion is delivering excellent dental care to my patients through the latest techniques and technology. I have been the Kansas City Chiefs’ official team dentist since 2012. My mission is to empower the athletes I treat with knowledge about the importance of good oral health and guide them toward achieving a radiant smile that will boost their confidence -- and performance on the field.

This letter aims to connect with other NFL dentists and develop an association that facilitates gatherings for sharing information and resources. During our initial meeting, we will exchange information to get to know each other better. After our initial meeting, I propose we organize gatherings with guest speakers to discuss various topics. Additionally, we can invite team trainers to participate in these discussions. We could also talk about our individual experiences serving our teams, our involvement in team physicals, and if we operate from the team facility or treat players in our offices. We could also effectively address strategies to promote dental services to potential new players during our meetings. Another crucial matter to consider is how we are utilized on game day. Sharing our experiences and knowledge could enhance our team working relationships while benefiting the players.

I believe the goal of this association is to raise awareness about the importance of dental health in the world of professional sports and highlight how it can significantly impact the overall health of athletes. I envision an organization that champions education and communication to increase our comprehension of the importance of oral hygiene and its repercussions on athletes if disregarded. Our association of dentists has the potential to confidently guide trainers in their understanding of the critical nature of routine hygiene appointments and ensure that athletes receive the essential dental healthcare they require.
